FAQ Master - Economics of Innovation for Sustainable Development

What does it teach ?
The EISD Master focuses on sustainable development, with a strong emphasis on eco-innovation and the analysis of the firm, regional and urban dynamics, leading to multidisciplinary thinking and insights (economics, management, law).

The aim of the joint Master's programme is threefold :
1. Provide students with high-level skills in analysing the economic dynamics underlying innovation processes in private and public organisations, with a particular focus on strategies related to new technological challenges such as digital transformation and ecological transition;
2. Provide students with statistical and econometric tools and methods useful for the analysis of data and technological trends and necessary for the informed coordination and planning of corporate innovation strategies compatible with sustainable development objectives;
3. Provide students with activities conducive to developing and strengthening their language skills.

The final objective of the joint EISD Master is to provide students with the necessary skills to diagnose and interpret the main changes affecting the competitiveness of private sector organisations (start-ups, SMEs, ETIs and large groups), in close connection with the innovation process introduced as part of the challenge of sustainable development.

The transformation of companies is part of a more global dynamic that takes account of environmental, social and economic concerns. It involves changes in occupations and employment that need to be supported. Companies need managers who can take decisions in an uncertain environment and implement appropriate operational and managerial solutions. In particular, they are looking for managers who have a global vision of the changes taking place in the industry and who are able to : Process and analyse large amounts of data ; Develop strategies in a context of change; Analyse and manage the main industrial risks; Design and implement responsible value chains; Develop sustainable corporate financing; Design and implement new business ideas.

In addition to these specific skills, the EISD Master's degree also offers the opportunity to develop cross-disciplinary skills related to the use of data processing and analysis tools and software, different methods of study and analysis, risk management and the ability to work in a team under pressure.
